Today (Sunday November 09, 2008) as most other days, I have a few news and music news websites that I visit on a regular basis, one of them being RoadRunnerRecords.com, and must to my surprise, they accidentally let their domain expire.

As you can see on the screen shot below, instead of their usual homepage, there’s now a standard page uploaded where the domain has expired.

There are a few easy ways to get around this happening to your website, first have automatic renewal set for your domain, and most importantly if your credit card expires or you get a new one, update it with your domain register.

Even being offline for a few hours with a website like this, they are loosing a lot of traffic and hopefully they will be able to rectify this soon. They do have the option to renew their domain, so we will have to wait and see how this unfolds.

So, keep your domain renewal to automatic, keep credit cards up to date, and check your emails from your domain register!

As of today Monday November 10th 2008 RoadRunnerRecords.com is back online, so remember to keep track of when your domain is going to expire!
