Google Pack

If you are not already aware, Google now has bundled software along with some other top companies with essential software for your computer call Google Pack.

One of the programs that comes with Google Pack that I'm glad to see is Norton Antivirus 2005 Special Edition. Far too often a lot of people still rely on using the free antivirus programs. The problem with them is that the majority of the free ones do not offer protection from worms and Trojan horses. It is a must to have your computer properly protected. While Norton might not be your top choice or the best around. It is free with a 6 month subscription and it will be an improvement in protection over a free anti-virus program any day. Chances are, within the first week or so, Norton will most likely block or worm or Trojan horse. One note just after reading the fine print with the special edition download "Norton AntiVirus Special Edition does not include the following features: Norton™ Internet Worm Protection". At least it blocks trojan horses.

Another program that you might want to add to the list with Google pack is Ad-Aware SE Personal. Those annoying Spyware programs. This will help the battle in keeping your computer safer.

Windows® Defender

Something else you may be interested in checking out is Microsofts Windows Defender program. Essentially it is "a free program that helps you stay productive by protecting your computer against pop-ups, slow performance and security threats caused by spyware and other potentially unwanted software."
