Manning Search Marketing is a privately owned company in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada owned by Gerard Manning. April 2024 marks Gerard Manning’s 24 years of experience working as a search marketing consultant and Manning Search Marketing was officially launched in 2004/2005.

Gerard’s Search Marketing Career started in Kelowna BC with Enquiro Search Solutions, of which Gerard worked with this great company from 2000 – 2004 and as an Independent Contractor from 2010 to 2011. When working with Enquiro, job duties involved with the setup process of new websites, conducting keyword analysis, managing a roster of SEO clients, handling the optimization for the main company website and part of the content writing team.

“The goal when working with Enquiro Search Solutions was to learn as much as possible about the complete process of setting up a website from scratch on the organic SEO side to having it fully launch. With keyword research, early on I was able to determine the best keywords for a campaign to target. Back then we had to partly rely on Overture for keyword research data, and that alone could be misleading if not properly understanding the results.  From there I started on website design, mainly with Photoshop editing and HTML websites. This was pre-WordPress era. Now I work on WordPress build-outs and managing websites on other CMS sytsems.

Before leaving Enquiro, I was a Research Assistant on Inside the Mind of the Searcher that was released in 2005 and spearheaded by then owner Gord Hotchkiss. Enquiro Search Solutions is now Mediative (a Yellow Pages Group) that was purchased by Yellow Media.
